CIGARS
updated 1-3-2009
Happy New Year and all that jazz...smoking cigars these days can
take you broke. Most of the good decent premium sticks are up in the $8,
$9 and $10 range so for the guys who smoke 3 or 4 a day it gets kind of
pricey. The above picture is my buddy Carlos here in North Carolina.
I thought I knew everything about cigars until I met him, then I found out
I didn't know as much as I thought I did. Carlos is a New York kid so he
and I get along great. It helps he's a Yankee and Giants fan too...Carlos
will tell you if a stick is "smooth & creamy" or "sweet&spicey"
or "earthy" or yada, yada, yada, the bottom line is if Carlos likes
it, I probably will like it too, so.......starting this year I'll have him review
one cigar a month and then let you make up your own mind...In the picture he's
smoking a La Flor Dominicana "Salamon" (check the spelling) which was
a giant smoke running a big ring towards the foot. He loves it but the
price is prohibitive- $23.00 ouch!
Currently- my five favorite cigars are:
1. Pepin Garcia--"My Father"
2. La Flor Dominicana--Ligero L-250 (Oscuro Natural)
3. Arturo Fuente - Anejo Maduro (comes out only at Christmas)
4. Camacho--"11/18"
5. Avo--"787"
